White Jasmine Hand and Body Milk from Spa Ceylon Ayurveda [Review and List of Winners]

This review was a very much requested one! Loads of readers asked me how good it is.. did i use it.. Does it lighten the skin.. whats so special bla bla bla. So finally decided to post the review and hope it answers all your questions. First of all this one is from Spa Ceylon's WHITE RANGE which aims at lightening and brightening skin tone. I got this product from the gift set which was reviewed HERE. Its a really pretty set so you definitely would want to have a look at that.

My thoughts on the WHITE RANGE:

There was a bit of confusion on this range.. many ladies were saying they didnt want to WHITEN their skin.. they dont believe in WHITE. Yes ofcourse i dont believe in WHITENING myself. Its obvious you can NOT whiten your skin tone further than what you were born with. So this range just helps you maintain what you already got and yes if you got a bit of sun damage and a bit of skin darkening.. yes it is supposed to help whiten and lighten. So its all about maintaining and keep your skin healthy. No harmful chemicals or bleach in here.. no mercury so there is no scary talk about 4 shades lighteR in 4 weeks.. become snow white in 4 days etc. No scary outrageous claims and no silliness.

Scent:

Jasmines! Its a beautiful scent of jasmines along with other subtle scents which come out a bit floury. If you know what i mean. Its light and beautiful. Nothing strong.. no headache of too much jasmines. Its simple yet flowery. Stays on for hours and makes you feel really fresh and scented up!

Texture:

Very creamy! It says body milk but the texture is that of a thick cream. Really thick.. takes a little time to get absorbed into the skin. It leaves a white cast sometimes.. so i always keep massaging the cream into the skin to avoid this.

Does it really work?

GOOD QUESTION! For a cream to work at its best you got to use it every day and for a couple of months atleast. Since its natural ingredients and all that.. it may take time to show results. I am a super lazy girl who rotates her creams as per her moods. I havent used it enough to be sure if it works or not. But in between this rotating and using.. i have used up 3/4 of the bottle and would love to use another one too. Though you might not notice.. it moisturizes well and leaves skin soft for quite a long time.

So..

A lovely scented lotion full of natural ingredients.. perfect for jasmine lovers and if you are looking for some skin lightening.. you can try this out. Im not sure if it lightens your skin but it moisturisers well and smells divine.

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector

There were days when i never owned a hand cream.. there were days when everyone around me used to talk about dry hands.. brittle nails while i was busy reading study books and wondering what the fuss was all about?! Dry hands? I didnt ever have to deal with that misfortune.. i was blessed with beautiful super soft hands. I was never worried about them.. didnt give it a second thought and yes i was ever ready to shake hands and make a new friend. Well.. that was like maybe 10 years ago? 8? 5? Seems like ages. And now? Here i am looking for good hand creams.. checking for ingredients.. wondering what works best.. wondering if detergents are doing the harm.. too much of typing? sun damage? OR AM I JUST GROWING OLD! OMG! haha.. i dont mean to sound so scary but trust me.. dry hands? It is scary.. super annoying and something you would NOT want to deal with. I know you are happily looking at your beautiful hands and sighing 'THANK GOD' but i have to tell you.. if you are not going to look after your hands.. you will be feeling just like i am now. Ok maybe i am being a little too dramatic? Ok.. well actually the harsh weather.. household chores and YES i am growing old. LOL. These factors really effect hands.. and i had to find the BESTESTEST hand cream on this earth to deal with my situation.. and did i? Maybe not the BESTESTEST but Yes the best hand cream i have ever used is here below:

I did try a couple of hand creams before but just for review purposes.. i see something nice and want to try it. I wanted to use something nice smelling on my hands. Those were the reasons for buying the few hand creams i had owned. Then one day.. i just realised my hands were getting drier by the day.. a few painful spots.. and i am horrified. No handshakes everybody.. especially for Mr. Husband. Who kinda teased me saying my finger prints were all fading away. He was trying to be funny actually but the next day we were at The Body Shop at City Center looking at hand creams. Mr. Husband hates this sort of shopping but the punishment for commenting on my fingerprints were - Find me a good hand cream NOW. HAHA! So we ended up coming home holding 2 lovely hand creams from The Body Shop. This one and the Almond hand and nail cream which i will write about very soon. (THE SCENT IS SO DREAMY AWESOME) I didnt know which to choose. So i bought one for the day and one for night time. The Hemp Hand Protector is for night time obviously.

Texture:

The texture of this cream is really thick and super creamy. Takes a little time to absorbed but it gets absorbed well and doesnt feel greasy at all. Your hands feel instantly soft and super moisturized!

Scent:

A VERY medicine like scent.. not something you will love or fall in love with but its ok i guess.. you definitely might not hate it. Its not unbearable or anything. Its just that it is not girly or feminine in any way.

So.. 

An amazing hand cream perfect for REALLY dry hands.. or if you want something good for your hands at night. Do try this out.. you will love it for sure. And yeah i wish it had a better scent but it doesnt really bother me much. So ladies remember start using your hand creams early so that you dont wake up one fine morning and totally freak out (like i did!).

Caolion Pore Minimizing Pack [FIRST IMPRESSIONS AND A WINNER ANNOUNCED]

Its been really so long since i had a bit of pampering done.. face packs are like the bestestest stuff to make you feel and look refreshed instantly. Ofcourse if you use the right ones. This one is from my Fortune Box from WishTrend.  Its a 2 step face pack system and this is Step 2.

Scent:

Mint and mint! Feels of mint.. SMELLS of mint! Tastes of mint? haha.. i didnt taste it unfortunately. Its a really cool minty face pack.

Texture:

If you see close.. then you will notice it looks like a clay mask. Yes.. it looks exactly like a clay mask. The texture and how it spreads onto the skin. A bit thick and nice.

Effect of the mask:

Once applied onto the face - the mask comes on REALLY COOL! Like super cool and calming. Just apply it and lie down. Feels soooooooo fresh and lovely. Perfect to unwind after a tired long day. Let it stay for 15-20 mins and wash off. I noticed an instant glow on my face. My skin looked fresh and bright. The dullness was washed off my face! My face felt smoother and yes my nose felt really smooth too!

So..

A really cool (literally) calming mask! Perfect to brighten up your face and smoothen (is that even a word? LOL) your skin. The part about minimizing pores.. im not sure because i dont have large pores so i wouldnt know. Calming yes.. cooling YES and will i want to try it again? YES YES YES!

Black Raspberry Vanilla Soap from SkinCaring Soaps

My love for shower gels kinda shifted to soaps (as you might know) when i discovered the world of 'handmade soaps' if you arent familiar with handmade soaps.. you should definitely check out my reviews of other soap bars HERE! If you dont.. you definitely are missing loads of bubbliness!

Anyways the product i got here is a really lovely soap from SkinCaring Soaps that i received long time ago.. i have been saving it for weeks not wanting to try it.. only because i didnt want to finish it off. Haha.. as silly as it may sound.. girls do that alot.. dont they?

Scent:

The fruity notes of this soap is really low.. its subtle and almost there while a very warm buttery scent takes over. I wish it had more notes of raspberry to make it a fresh fruity soap but this one is a warm buttery comforting soft scent. Best for winter.

Lather:

Lathers really well! Creamy and bubbly!

So..

A lovely soap perfect for winter.. if you are someone who doesnt like strong scents this one is perfect for you! Free from SLS and other harmful ingredients! Who wouldnt want to try it?

Nivea Pearl and Beauty Anti-perspirant

Well its been soo long since i have written a product review.. feels like forever. Been SUPER BUSY.. i still am.. with moving countries.. homes.. and having to manage a household just by myself.. not easy! But anyways i will still blog whenever i get some free time. OFCOURSE I WILL! And on the other days you got  loads of giveaways that i have organised to keep you all busy bees. LOL! This product is something i picked up a while ago.

Scent:

Has a really soft.. feminine scent. Of what? I really cant catch.. and it doesnt say as well. It has pearl extracts but i dont think pearl has a scent. So no idea but its a lovely, SOFT, floating about, feathery scent of GOD KNOWS WHAT.

Lasting power:

The lasting power is somewhat poor. Ofcourse its not meant to last so long since its an anti-perspirant and has a different job to do altogether. But i do sometimes get a slight breeze of the scent after an hour or two. Really light.. just brushes me through but its still there somewhere. Not strong at all!

Does it work as an anti-perspirant:

Honestly i dont use any deodorants on my underarms. OK im going to sound like a complete idiot LOL. But i buy deodorants.. body sprays etc. but nothing goes onto my underams because of the CANCER SCARE. My mom always reminds me and has totally scarred me for life LOL. I only use baby cologne and that works fine. Thank God.. i have never needed anything stronger than that. So this product goes onto my shoulders.. back of my neck and some pulse points. I know its NOT meant for that purpose but i cant help it. Thats just how i am. So end of the day: i got no clue if its a good anti-perspirant.. and it doesnt really matter to me either ways.

Will you get smooth underarms as it claims?

Actually YES you just might!! I have noticed that when i spray it on my skin.. its all smooth.. a bit moisturized and feels kinda soft and nice. Well maybe because of the pearl extracts and all that. Its quite interesting.. and im sure your underarms will enjoy it too!

So..

A nice scent.. a fresh smelling product. Would love to try the other scents in this range. (if any). So hope you liked my review and since we came onto the topic - i want to know your thoughts on the 'DONT BRING BODY SPRAYS CLOSE TO YOUR UNDERARMS' scare. What do you think?
