Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Perfume

Today i will be doing a review on my favorite perfume! YaY! Hope you enjoy it!

Fragrance notes: Rose, Apple, Musk and Jasmine.

Doesnt look that pretty ha? Well yes.. it doesnt look that pretty but smells really beautiful. :-D

My First Impression:

This perfume was actually a gift from my uncle who lives in the UK and when it arrived by post.. i was all excited because he had told me i was getting a nice perfume for my birthday and he wouldnt tell me what kind. I had to wait one whole week to find out what. And when i opened the package.. there it was. hmmm.. a rectangular shaped boring bottle in a blue velvet pack. It didnt really look like an interesting perfume.. and definitely not like a women's perfume. hehe.. :P

What i think now:

Its a really beautiful fragrance.. not too strong or too mild either. Something you can use both day and night. Its quite long lasting but i have heard many say that the smell is gone within a few hours but i think it stays though the person who has used it doesnt really realise. There were times when people used to ask me about my perfume and compliment on it even after a long sweaty summer day!

Its a simple bottle nothing too complicated or delicate and its easy to carry about in your handbag. You can just drop it in your handbag and travel all around without being concerned about breakage.

A beautiful FRESH fragrance perfect for summer!

Will i recommend it?

Yes definitely would! But always remember perfumes are a personal choice.. i might love something but you might not so always try a perfume before you buy it to make sure you like it.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Exfoliator

Hey Ladies! How’s everyone? Hope you all had a lovely weekend. :-D I had quite a long tiring weekend and didn’t get time to come online at all. What did you do this weekend? Went out anywhere fun? Did any shopping? Or just stayed home and watched movies? 

After a long weekend, you need to start your new week with a fresh bright face.. Yeah? Yes. Today I will be reviewing my face scrub.

OILY/BLEMISHED SKIN 100 ML

Blemish-beating polish to unblock pores and reveal a smoother complexion. With triple action Community Trade Tea Tree oil. Breakouts are minimised with regular use.

Directions:

Gently massage onto wet skin, rinse. Use once or twice a week.

What I think about the product:

Appearance:

A transparent easy use tube.. which is easy to use and also carry around when travelling.

Texture:

The exfoliator is light green in colour with very tiny bits of brown which is not that visible unless you look really close. It smells so strong of tea tree oil.. I wouldn’t say it has a pleasant smell though.. it smells like a herbal cream. Its a very mild exfoliator and doesn’t have any beads or anything. It has a very creamy texture.. and a little of it is enough for the whole face and neck. ( I use it on my neck too).

I use this exfoliator because I have VERY sensitve skin and during the winters when I was in Islamabad I noticed that many other face scrubs that I had tried were making my skin break out, peel and my face was always sore and red after exfoliation. 

I don’t have oil skin.. I have dry skin.. but after seeing the words ‘BLEMISHED SKIN’ I decided to give this product a try. I had bought so many different kinds of scrubs.. used them just once or twice and thrown them out! I don’t even remember half of their names and the reasons why I hated them. And finally I found this :-D I have been using this product for over a year now and im completely satisfied. Its very mild formulation but it does polish skin and  give it a glow.. but those who are used to using products with alotta beads will find this scrub a little too mild for their skin so I recommend only those who want mild scrubs.. and those who have really sensitive skin go for this.

Effect on skin:

Face looks smooth and bright and feels really soft without any irritation or redness.

Cons:

One thing I noticed is that it doesn’t completely get rid of blackheads! I know :( and blackheads will have to be treated differently.. that’s what I do. Apart of that and the smell.. I simply LOVE this facial exfoliator.

Will I repurchase it?

Yes! :-D

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Stay-Put Primer for Concealers & Eyeshadows

Hey Ladies :-D Today i will be doing a review on one of those products that have mixed reviews.. some people totally love it and some dont. So im hoping i would get some of your reactions as well on this product after you see my review.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Stay-Put Primer for Concealers & Eyeshadows:

So this is what it looks like. A small really cute pump bottle. Very easy to carry around in your handbag.

What i think about this product:

This is a 2 in 1 product that can be used as a primer for eyeshadow and a concealer. It looks rather cute coz of the attractive name and the lovely packaging but the pump bottle isnt an advantage at all! It is one of the reasons why i dont like this product that much. When you push the pump alot of product comes out and its just wasted.. even when i try to push it gently it doesnt help. 

As a primer-

Its a good primer for eyeshadow.. really makes your eyeshadow pop out and show well. Eyeshadow stays put for quite a long time without coming down.

As a concealer-

Well.. as a concealer.. i feel it could have been better. It doesnt blend well.. and there is this whitish look that it gives to my undereyes.. it makes my eyes look overdone. Maybe the color doesnt match with my skin tone or if its the concealer itself. I dont really feel comfortable using it as a concealer.

My Final Verdict- 

I wouldnt recommend this product at all since there are many different good primers that are available in the market and there are much cheaper than this one and the concealer isnt good either so its just a waste of money :(

Will i repurchase it?

No.

Maybelline WHITESTAY UV Mousse Foundation

Hello! hows everyone? im good and hope you're good too :-) I was thinking maybe i can do a review on a face product today! i haven't still done one and i was thinking why not so this is the product i will be reviewing today!

(the picture i have posted is the foundation in porcelain but i will reviewing the shade creamy natural)

Packaging:

Now you can see from the picture that its a very convenient and pretty packaging. Its easy to carry around in your handbag and easy to use. But there's always the hygiene factor :( you have to dip your fingertips into the container when using so this is not really hygienic and also makeup stays more fresh and lasts longer when its not in contact with your fingers.

Amazing whitening foundation in an air-soft mousse texture

So there you can see how much of it has been used :-) and its a very pretty shade isnt it. There are a few more shades available and you can choose the right shade i.e a little darker or bit more lighter according to your skin color. I dont seem to be able to find them on the net. If you own any other shades please send me the swatches :-)

What i think about this product:

• First of all, it has a pleasant smell :-) Yes! make up should always smell beautiful :-) 
• It has a smooth creamy texture which is easy to blend and spreads well.
• It has SPF 24.
• It has a whitening factor but honestly im not really sure if it does help whiten skin but it makes the skin look really bright and gives a healthy look.
• It has a light VERY light shimmer to it and its really beautiful especially in the night.. but it doesnt really show up during the day so its perfect for both day and night use.
• Good for the hot weather.. it doesnt melt away.
• Perfect for beginners and people who prefer light foundation and nothing too complicated.
• Can be used as a primer for eyeshadow as well.

One problem is that its not available easily here in Colombo. Im not sure where its available and how much it costs here in Colombo coz this one was brought down frm Hongkong.. and i heard that the whitestay foundation is only available in Asia and not in Europe.

My final verdict:

A nice foundation which is ideal for day to day wear.

Will i repurchase it?

Yes i will :-D but i think next time i would have to be more careful in choosing the right shade for my skin color coz i feel this is a little light for my skin.

What I think about this product:

Appearance-

A nice looking pump bottle which is easy to use and helps avoid spillage and leakage of the lotion.

This is what it looks like:

Smell-

It has a light pleasant fragrance that stays all day long :-) Those who dont like very strong fragrances might like this alot. 

Does it really work?

Well, this lotion is one that is especially formulated for extra dry skin. I bought this when i was in Islamabad so i can use it during the winters. My skin gets really VERY dry during the winters and nothing else seems to work. I found a bottle of this lotion and i was really impressed! it works.

But if you are living in a hot country or if you want to use it during summer.. you might find this lotion a bit greasy and sticky.. it doesnt absorb into the skin very quickly and it feels slightly sticky all over! So unless its winter  this  lotion is a definite NO.

Now that im back to colombo, i use this lotion just on my dryEST parts like my elbows, knees and feet! And i find it very helpful.

I would say this is a really good moisturizer BUT looking at its ingredients i noticed that it contains mineral oil which i heard does alotta harm to the skin.. so i was thinking.. is it worth the risk? 

My final verdict:

A good moisturizer for winter! 

Will I repurchase it: 

If i live in a really cold country i will! But the fact that it contains mineral oil bothers me a bit.

Pretty Little Liars is BACK :-D

Pretty little liars Season 2 started on the 14^th of June 2011. After a really thrilling season 1, everyone was waiting for season 2 so impatiently and now its on air! (FINALLY)

I’m so excited! I still haven’t watched the 1^st episode but I think I will do it tonight and let you all know how it is! 

For those who havent watched the 1st season i would suggest that you start watching right from the beginning and not miss a single episode coz you may not understand whats happening if you dont watch it properly.

Freeman Truly Luscious Caramel Vanilla Swirl Nourishing Body Wash Reviews!

Helloooo :-D This is my 1stestest review and im soo excited! So here's the product that i will be reviewing today:

Freeman Truly Luscious Caramel Vanilla Swirl Nourishing Body Wash:

Price - LKR. 650 for 400ml

Directions:

Gently massage onto wet skin. Rinse completely. And while it smells good enough to eat it, it is not. Please do not eat Truly Luscious.

Actually when I spotted it in the supermarket shelf last week (At Arpico) I noticed that they had 2 flavors in this range. The other one was Chocolate Mint. But I chose caramel vanilla swirl coz I totally fell in love with its name :P I know! Caramel.. vanilla.. swirl.. jus made me so curious I wanted to buy it right away and see what its like. So here goes!

What I think about this product:

Appearance-

The bottle looks like an old medicine bottle.. LOL! Oh no It really does but I think that’s what makes it look so mysterious.. and interesting.

Well despite the nice looks.. I think the mouth of the bottle is a little too big.

So you have to be really careful when pouring the product to make sure you don’t pour too much.

Lather-

You need to use a little more product than usual to get a really good lather maybe that explains why the bottle has a big mouth.

Smell-

It has such a lovely smell! Smells of vanilla.. caramel.. almost like a pudding :-D and you want to eat it up! It smell really delicious! But.. BUT the smell disappears in a minute! The minute you start massaging it onto your skin you realize that it has absolutely no smell at all.. the smell is just when its in the bottle not out.And after the shower you hardly smell anything.. unless you keep your nose really close to your skin and try hard. :(

Effect on skin-

Doesnt dry skin so those who have normal skin can use it but it doesnt have any moisturizing factor so those with dry skin might find this a problem.

My final verdict:

Slightly disappointed with the product coz it doesn’t have a lasting smell and was hoping it would moisturise the skin but it didnt. Anyways it doesnt really matter since its not such a bad product afterall. Its always nice to try out new products and add them to your collection.

Will I repurchase it:

Nope.. I would like to try the other Freeman body washes coz I feel they got better ones.
